Important Notice

Please note that you must have a DigiTV PCI card, DigiTV USB or µDigiTV Master USB unit connected and installed on your PC before our µDigiTV Slave USB product will operate.

Without a master device being connected, the µDigiTV Slave USB device will not function.

Installation

Step 1: Preparing for installation

Before you start the installation process please ensure that you have the following items:

  • An installed and connected DigiTV PCI or µDigiTV Master USB External Unit
  • Nebula µDigiTV USB Slave External Unit
  • USB Cable
  • DigiTV v3.5 Software Installation Disk
  • µDigiTV USB Slave Installation Sheet
  • 1m Aerial Lead (Female to Male)

If you have one of our DigiTV USB Master/Slave units installed on your PC then please move on to Step 2 as you will have already carried out the following checks. If not, we will need to make sure that you are using the latest USB 2.0 drivers available for your operating system.

To do so, please carry out the following actions.

Right click on My Computer and then choose Properties.

Next click on the Hardware tab and then click on the Device Manager button.
Right click on the USB Enhanced Host (EHCI) Controller, and then choose Properties. It will be located in either the USB Controllers subsection or under Other Devices, listed as a Universal Serial Bus Controller.

Now click on the Driver tab, and then click on the Driver Details button to bring up the file version numbers for your USB 2.0 enhanced host controller.
You should now be looking at a screen like this one.

Please ensure that the file versions listed on your screen either match or are later than the following list:

  • System32\Drivers\usbehci.sys 5.1.2600.1106
  • System32\Drivers\usbhub.sys 5.1.2600.1106
  • System32\Drivers\usbport.sys 5.1.2600.1106
  • System32\Hccoin.dll 5.1.2600.1106
  • Sytem32\usbui.dll 5.1.2600. 0

Once you have checked the version numbers, click on ok to exit this screen. If the file versions match you can then close each of the open windows on your desktop and continue on to Step 2.

  • However if the file versions aren’t the same please do the following:

In the Enhanced Host Controller Properties window (window 3 above), click the Update Driver button. You will then be shown a screen similar to the one on the right.

Click Install the software automatically (Recommended), and then click Next.

Windows XP should find some new up-to-date drivers, which it will then install. Following this you may be asked to reboot your machine, and if you are please do so. If not, you can now safely close any open windows on your desktop as they aren’t needed anymore.

You should now have the most up to date drivers installed so you can continue on to Step 2.

Step 2: Uninstall any version of DigiTV which is older than v3.5

If you are currently running v3.5 (or later) of our DigiTV software (or you don't have any DigiTV software currently installed) please move on to Step 3.

    Otherwise, please do the following:-

    1) Ensure that DigiTV is completely exited and is not running in the system tray or in windowed/fullscreen mode.

    2) Please now go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel, and then double click on the 'Add or Remove Programs' option.

    3) A new window will appear listing out all of the software you currently have installed. Within this list you will find an entry called 'DigiTV'. Please now click on it to select it.

    4) Once it has been selected two new buttons will appear next to the entry called 'Change' and 'Remove'. Please click on the 'Remove' option.

    5) Now all you need to do is follow the onscreen prompts to fully remove the previous version of DigiTV from your system. If asked to reboot please choose not to as this is not necessary.

Now that you have uninstalled the older version of our DigiTV software please continue on to Step 3.
