Settings Dialog Box
The Tuning Settings Tab - General
Although the autotuning function should pick up all of the available channels on its first pass, there may be occasions where it does not (eg if the
published frequency allocations for a country change before the DigiTV application can be updated).
Using this settings box, you can fine tune (no pun intended)
the action of the tuning functions.
Tune Channels with an LCN of Zero
This is really an advanced option. Normally DigiTV tunes all channels and then discards the ones that have a Logical Channel Number (LCN) of zero because in the
UK this means that the channel is no longer broadcasting useful information.
However, in some countries this is not the case so you'd wish to keep all of the channels tuned - hence this option.
When AutoTune sees this option set, DigiTV will keep all of the channels it finds and assigns each channel with an LCN of zero its own 'virtual LCN' starting at 800.
Add 300 to Radio LCNs
In some European countries Radio Stations are allowed to have LCNs that are already assigned to TV channels. Because DigiTV automatically discards channels with a duplicated LCN (because this can signify the same channel from a different transmitter)
this option has been added to make sure that Radio stations will always have a unique LCN when tuned.
Autotune Start and End
These parameters control the frequencies between which DigiTV will attempt to find channels using Autotune.
Bandwidth
The bandwidth describes how much spectral space a Digital TV Multiplex channel will take. This is set by the transmitting authority and it should be noted that if this parameter
does not match the transmitted bandwidth then no channels will be detected even if they are present on the given frequency.
Lock Gate Time
This parameter controls how much time DigiTV will spend on a channel looking for a signal (in milliseconds). In order for a channel to be detected, the four locks (AGC, TPS, Viterbi and FEC)
need to be present. If you find that the Autotuning is not reliably detecting all of the available channels and you are sure that you are capable of receiving them, you might like to increase
this value and try autotuning again.
Autotune Now
Selecting this option will start an autotune using the custom settings specified.
Set Defaults for Country
Selecting this option will reset the autotune start/end frequencies, bandwidth and lock gate times to the
default values stored within DigiTV for your specific country.
