Settings Dialog Box
The Digital Text Settings Tab - Information Dump
The Digital Text settings dialog is split into two sections:
Digital Text (MHEG-5) for digital text in the UK, and
VBI Text for digital text in Europe and Australia
Dump DTT Cache
If you're a real techie, or just want access to the data, we've provided the ability to dump the contents of the MHEG-5/VBI cache to disk.
In the file structure you'll find all of the images, stills and MHEG files (in binary ASN-1 format) that go to make up the teletext display being viewed.
If you just want the stills and images rather than the program files as well, you can select Images & MPEGs Only and only those files will be dumped
as a flat directory.
VBI text will only allow
the extraction of the textual data that is transmitted, but if you're in a region that is transmitting MHEG-5, you'll be able to save the
gif, jpeg, mpeg and other format picture files that make up the presentation too.
You must have Teletext enabled to use this feature.
VBI Text Specific
If you're in an area that broadcasts VBI teletext, you can use this section to set the default font parameters for you teletext display.
You should also set the default page on which subtitles appear so that DigiTV knows where to get them when subtitles are selected. This page is different
for each country, but as an example it would be 888 if the UK were to broadcast VBI text on the digital platform.
