Digital TV for your PC

There are many different manufacturers of analogue TV cards currently (although they have basically the same design), but with the UK government committed to turning off analogue transmissions by 2012 in favour of their digital cousins, what is the PC community to do? This is where DigiTV comes in.

DigiTV has been designed to take advantage of the new Freeview free-to-air digital TV channels that are now broadcast in the UK. Freeview currently offers 79 digital TV, radio and digital text channels with a promise that most of the UK will be able to receive the transmissions. All you need is a TV license, an aerial, a PC and DigiTV.

DigiTV comes in two forms:-

  • An electronics card that you plug into the PCI bus inside your computer.
  • An external unit which you connect to your PC via a free USB 2.0 port.

Both our PCI and USB devices accept a standard UHF television aerial connection, and provide a loop through so that the aerial cable can be routed to other equipment such as a normal TV or decoder box.

  • On the DigiTV PCI card you'll also find a yellow phono connector and 2.5mm stereo jack connection. The yellow connector is for direct video input from composite video sources such as a video camera or games console. The 2.5mm stereo jack connection is the input for the Remote Control Receiver box that comes with DigiTV.
DigiTV comes supplied with our own custom Nebula Remote Control which has been designed specifically for use with our DigiTV PCI and USB devices. Just about all of the main functions of DigiTV are brought out to a dedicated button on this control, so there is no need to spend time hunting through menus to find the function you need.

Buttons are also provided that control functions of DigiTV that have yet to be added (such as DVD player) so it is completely future proof.
