An Electronic Programme Guide or EPG is a database that you can search to find out what is on and when.
The EPG provided by DigiTV extends up to 7 days in advance and will tell you what is on for all of the major TV and Radio stations.
It can be viewed from either the main menu from the EPG pull-down, or context menu under EPG -> 7-Day Guide.
The guide is much more than TV and Radio listings however, as you can use it to set recording timers for your favourite programmes just
by clicking the mouse - but more on that later.
In the UK and several countries in Europe, the Electronic Programme Guide information is now transmitted by the broadcasters and therefore there is no need to be connected to the internet to receive this information in these countries.
DigiTV will automatically pick up and use any EPG transmissions that are being
broadcast. If however the broadcasters in your area do not provide over the air
Electronic Programme Guide transmissions, you may instead be able to download this
information from a third party internet server.
Please refer to the EPG Settings help page for more information about setting up DigiTV to download listings from third party locations if
you do not have over the air EPG broadcasts in your area.
The EPG dialog box looks a little complex at first, but there are really no complicated operations to perform. It's designed to be easy and intuitive
to use:
In the top-right of the box there are two drop down boxes: One for the channel and the other for the date (up to a week ahead). Just select your
preference here and the programmes for that channel on that day will be displayed over on the left. If you click on any of the programmes, you will
see its details (name, channel, start time, etc) appear in the timer boxes on the right of the display.
Double-click an entry and you'll set a record timer for that programme!

The Listing tab just described
The Search tab - allows you to find your favourite programmes
The Timer tab - allows you to examine the timer recordings already set
