About this release:

DigiTV-HD v3.7.10 (beta 1) is the first of several releases that will address DigiTV-HD compatibility issues when running under the Windows Vista operating system.

This release is a Public Beta and is made available so that users can feedback to us their experiences when running under Vista. Much of the DigiTV code has been completely re-written for Vista. It may be unstable under certain conditions and should not be relied upon.

Bug fixes and application functionality enhancements will continue to be made available free of charge when they become available as part of Nebula Electronics's free upgrade programme for DigiTV-HD v3.xx.

To install after having downloaded the 'Full Installer':

You'll need to uninstall any previous versions of DigiTV before installing this new version (your old settings will be safe).

To uninstall a previous version of DigiTV, Click the Start Button in the taskbar, then select Settings, Control Panel and then Add/Remove Programs. Select DigiTV from the list and click the Remove button. Alternatively select 'Uninstall DigiTV' from your Start -> Programs -> Nebula menu.

Extract the files to a temporary directory and run the file 'Setup.exe'.

To install after having downloaded 'Just the Essentials':

Make sure you have at least DigiTV v3.7.05 already installed. Shutdown DigiTV-HD completely (including from the system tray). Extract the contents of the Zip file to your DigiTV application directory (usually c:/program files/nebula/digitv/), overwriting the files that already exist.

Things you need to know about running under vista:

Vista is a much more secure OS than Windows XP. You will have to make sure that you have the appropriate permissions set for the DigiTV executable so that it can make recordings and save preferences to the registry. Right click the DigiTV-HD.exe file and select 'Run as Administrator'.

Vista doesn't support hardware overlay video display in the same way that XP does. In order to view video under Vista, only the DX9 video format setting is valid. This should be set automatically the first time you run DigiTV.
